Russian hockey team started the tournament in Sochi with a victory

In the first round match of the group stage of the Olympic tournament in Sochi Russian hockey team defeated the team of Slovenia. The meeting ended with the score 5:2 ( 2:0 , 1:2 , 2:0).

The goals were scored by Alexander Ovechkin scored goals (2nd minute ) , Evgeni Malkin (4) , Ilya Kovalchuk (38 ), Valery Nichushkin (44) and Anton Belov (48). 

In the second round of Group A Russians will play  with the U.S. team on February 15, and Slovenes meet with hockey players from Slovakia.
