Expert says Russian and Georgian peoples are still friends

Russian President Vladimir Putin has recently said that he would consider meeting his Georgian counterpart Georgy Margelashvili. The Georgian presidents has reacted immediately, saying that he is ready for such a meeting. The initiative has also been supported by Defense Minister Irakli Alasania.

According to political analyst Oleg Kudinov, the reaction of the Georgian politicians shows that they are ready to hold bilateral talks without some unacceptable for Russian conditions.

If held, such meeting will be based on discussion of positive sides of the bilateral relations, the expert says. It's clear that the Russian and the Georgian peoples are stll friends, he underlines.
