Ivano-Frankivsk regional council proclaims Yanukovych illegitimate president

The Ivano- Frankivsk regional council has proclaimed that Viktor Yanukovych is an illegitimate president of Ukraine.

This decision was made today at an extraordinary session of the council with its 76 members.

A released statement states that the council has decided to proclaim Yanukovych illegitimate due to ignoring the will of the Ciscarpatian regions, as well as violently suppressing peaceful protests resulting in deaths of protesters and disregarding constitutional rights and freedoms of Ukrainians.
