Andrey Kazantsev: "The withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan will increase the level of terrorism in Russia"

The Director of Research Center of the Institute of International Studies (University) of the MFA of Russia, Andrey Kazantsev, believes that the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan and further destabilization of the region does not directly threaten Russia. However, the analyst believes that the the deteriorating situation in the north of the country may entail a number of challenges for the Central Asian region, which in turn have a negative impact on the situation in Russia itself.
