"Shield and Rose" to become an integration project
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaRose' Awards Ceremony for the best female employees of law-enforcement
agencies and special services of Russia.
"The idea of establishing such an award was born long ago. We wanted to
emphasize the special role of women who work in the law-enforcement agencies
and special services. They are examples of good work in law-enforcement
bodies," the initiator of the project, Aslambek Aslakhanov,
President of the All-Russian Association of Law Enforcement Agencies and
Special Services employees told us. "You see, there are few cases of criminal
breach of trust by women and few female employees are brought to trial. At
the same time, men "compete" and therefore commit more crimes. Ahead of
International Women's Day, we decided to organize the awards - there are 6
nominations and 40 women will be awarded. On the eve of the 8th of March,
we will award mothers who have lost their sons, wives who have lost their husbands,
the best professionals, women who extend family dynasties for honest work
and high professionalism."
The organizing committee of the all-Russian social award is headed by
Joseph Kobzon. "There are many women who have devoted themselves to defending the interests of our citizens in law-enforcement agencies and enforcement
structures. I would like to express gratitude to Aslambek Aslakhanov, who shows his
interest. No surprise that he is a Chechen and loves women. But it's
wonderful that he takes care of them, as if all these women worked in his
department."
According to Tatyana Moskalkova, MP of the State Duma of Russia, Major
General of the Ministry for the Interior Affairs, "the number of female
officers is growing. There are 120 thousand in the Armed Forces, 187
thousand in internal affairs bodies. These are investigators, policewomen,
interrogating officers, extra-departmental guards. Their work is serious,
risky, exhausting, really masculine and tough. There are 112 women in the
Federal Penitentiary Service. These are women who guard prisons and
detention centers and work in departments of execution of punishments which
are not connected with imprisonment. This work is hard and dangerous. 95
women were awarded with the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union, and
there are more than ten Heroes of Russia, I mean after 1991. And of course
we want people to know about us. I was awarded the 'Shield and Rose' as well,
and it takes the most important place among my awards."
According to Ms Moskalkova, now the organizers want to bring the festival
to CIS level, or at least to the CSTO. "Our strategic partners are
interested in gathering our rows around positive, patriotic ideas, because
Ukraine, Belarus, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan experience such difficult
processes, and we should stick together. This year we will sign an
agreement on establishing the Eurasian Economic Union - a new integration
system. We hope many new integration processes will be demanded, including
our festival."
