Jen Psaki, spokeswoman of the US State Department, expressed concerns of Washington about contracts on sales of Iranian weapons to Iraq for $195 million, RIA Novosti reports.

8 contracts were signed in November 2013. 6 of them were signed to ship light arms, mortars, ammunition for tanks and artillery. The two other contracts were signed to ship equipment for night vision, communication, mortars, protection from chemicals. The Iraqi PM has neither denied nor confirmed the shipment.

Psaki reminded that such contracts were a violation of resolution N1747 of the UNSC. She noted that the deal could hinder the ease of sanctions for Iran, started in early 2014.
