Russian lawmakers refuse to start investigation into former minister's activities

Members of the State Duma, the lower chamber of the Russian Parliament, voted on Wednesday against launching a parliamentary investigation into the activities of former defense minister Anatoly Serdyukov.

The initiative to start such an investigation has been taken by lawmakers from the Communist Party and A Just Russia party.

The former official is currently accused of corruption and waste.
