Ukrainian acting president asks UNSC to monitor Crimea

Alexander Turchinov, Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament and Acting President, asked the UNSC to monitor the situation in the Crimea and prevent violation of its sovereignty if necessary, RIA Novosti reports.

The Ukrainian National and Defense Council will discuss the situation in the Crimea at 11.00AM.

The concerns over the Crimea were provoked by additional security measures taken at control posts of the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol.
