Interior Ministries of North Ossetia and Ingushetia agree to cooperate
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe Interior Ministers of North Ossetia and Ingushetia signed a protocol on joint search and preventative measures at an operative meeting in Vladikavkaz, RIA Novosti reports, citing the press-service of the Interior Ministry of North Ossetia.
The topic of the meeting was security and stability of the operative state in the zone of the administrative border. Heads of mobile groups of the Russian Interior Ministry assigned to North Ossetia and Ingushetia were also at the meeting.
North Ossetian Interior Minister Artur Akhmetkhanov noted that the two ministries have already cooperated together. He made mention of the effective work of the two ministries after the terrorist attack on August 17th, when a suicide bomber killed one policeman and injured three others.
Akhmetkhanov said that they carry out joint raids daily in the border and mountain-forest zones to uncover illegal armed groups and arms and ammunition caches.
Ingush Interior Minister Victor Pogolov noted the positive results of the joint work on both territories. He spoke about the effective work of both ministries in the Mozdok region of North Ossetia and the Malgobek region of Ingushetia. At the same time he spoke about the necessity for cooperation in the Nazran region of Ingushetia and the Prigorodny region of North Ossetia. The minister emphasized that, if the situation becomes critical, the two ministries should work as a single structure.
