Anti-Russian articles in mass media may become crimes

Yevgeny Fedorov, a United Russia member of parliament, is working on a bill that would make anti-Russian articles an anti-state crime, Izvestia reports.

According to the bill, information encouraging terrorism, intervention, separatism and genocide will be a state crime for both journalists and their editors. Fedorov explained that the bill was provoked by historical analogies, misinterpretations of the events in Russia and Ukraine.
