The first block of three stamps dedicated to the Paralympic medals "Sochi-2014,"  has been issued in Sochi today.

The unique block of stamps was issued within the philatelic program "Sochi-2014." It consists of three separate brands, each of which depicts one medal of the Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi - gold, silver and bronze.

"I am absolutely sure that these stamps will be priceless in collections of stamp collectors ... I want to congratulate the Russian Post and all collectors on this event," Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Kozakat said at the ceremony of issuing the stamps, RIA Novosti reports.

The philatelic novelty has no analogues in the world in terms of of design and technical features of production: three types of metallic paint - bronze , silver and gold - were simultaneously used for the creation of the bloc, as well as so-called hot stamping. This technology gives the picture a kind of 3D effect: touching the stamps, one feels miniature medals under the fingers.

The new block will be circulated in 150 thousand copies. Each brand has its own denomination: the stamp depicting a gold medal is worth 75 rubles, the stamp depicting a silver medal is worth 50 rubles, and the stamp depicting bronze medal is worth 25 rubles. The block size is 136  X 80mm.
