Iranian artist honoured at UNICEF photograph contest

Iranian journalist Younes Khani has garnered an honourable mention at the 2014 edition of UNICEF Photograph of the Year, presenting top images of the previous year,

the Iranian state-run Press TV media outlet reports on Tuesday.

The photographer received the award for his project featuring a family’s bitter story titled Father Poured Acid on Us.

The winning photo depicts the cruel attack of a man who poured acid over the faces of his wife, Somayyeh, and his two daughters, Raana and Nazanin, while they were sleeping at home in a village in the southeastern city of Bam in 2012.
