Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reports prevented Armenian sabotage attack

The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry has reported that Azerbaijani forces prevented a sabotage attack by Armenian forces in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

On August 31st at 16:30 a sabotage group of Armenian forces crossed the border of contact of forces in the village of Chayly in the Terter region and attempted to attack the positions of Azerbaijani forces.


The Armenians lost 3 soldiers and several were injured. Azerbaijan lost two soldiers – Amirov Vugar Amirali oglu (born in 1991, registered at the Imishlin conscription office) and Abdullayev Parvin Nabi oglu (born in 1991, registered in Sabirabad conscription office).


A monitoring group of the OSCE was inspecting the line of contact of Azerbaijani-Armenian forces. The personal representative of the chairman of the OSCE, Andrzej Kasprzyk, visited Khankendi that day, where he met the head of the breakaway Nagorno-Karabakh. They held talks concerning the situation on the line of contact of forces.
