Azerbaijan takes second place among CIS countries for basic pension rates

Azerbaijan is in second place among CIS countries for the level of basic pensions, which is $106, Trend reports, citing the chairman of the state fund of social protection, Salim Muslimov.

He said that the basic part of the pension in Kazakhstan is $124.2, in Russia - $90.2, in Belarus - $82.1.

According to information of July 1st, the number of pensioners in Azerbaijan is 1,291,139 and by the end of this year the number will have reached 1.38 million.

According to Azerbaijani President Ilkham Aliyev, the minimum monthly wage will reach $68 on September 1st 2010, the base sum of working pensions will be $68.

The income of the pension fund exceeded $65 million in the first half of 2010, which is $50 million more than in January-June 2009.
