Russia's Putin discusses Crimean crisis with UN chief

Russian President Vladimir Putin and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon discussed the situation surrounding the Crimea during a phone conversation on Friday, the Kremlin's press service reports.

Putin stressed that Russia believes that the coming referendum devoted to the peninsula's status is legal, while the UN chief underlined that the United Nations is committed to the principle of Ukraine's territorial integrity.
