Georgian Military Highway opens to traffic

Vehicular traffic on the Georgian Military Highway between Russia and Georgia has been restored, the press service of the Emergencies Ministry of North Ossetia reports.

"In connection with the normalization of the situation in Georgia, transport accident reduction, the possibility of providing safe passage of transport and in accordance with the telephone message of the Border Service of Russia, the
movement of vehicles at the scene of the Vladikavkaz-Lars Highway in both directions without restrictions has been allowed at 16:00 Moscow time," the ministry reports, quoted by ITAR-TASS.

Transportation on this road was discontinued this morning due to adverse weather conditions in Georgia, which resulting in the icy surfaces.
