Italy to return Iran satellite after lifting of sanctions

Hamid Fazeli, Deputy Director of the Iranian Space Agency, said that Italy will return the Mesbah satellite after the lifting of sanctions against the Islamic Republic, Iran.ru reports.Mesbah is one of the first satellites built by Iranian specialists. It was designed and built by the Communication Research Center and the Science Technical Research Organization of Iran. The Ministry for Science, Research and Technology and the Ministry for Communication and Information Technologies signed a contract in 1997 to build the satellite and built it in 1998-2001.The satellite is currently undergoing additional tests in Italy before the launch.Mesbah will be used for off-line data transfers. It weight 75kg. The machine will be exploited for 3 years. It will make 14 rotations a day and contact ground stations 3-4 times, clarified Mohammad Hassan Entezari, Director of the Satellite Laboratory of the Iranian Space Agency.
