Russia imposes retaliatory sanctions

The Russian Foreign Ministry said that there should be no doubt: to every hostile attack of the U.S., Moscow will respond adequately.

The Ministry imposed retaliatory sanctions against a number of U.S. officials and lawmakers.

The sanctions list of the Russian Federation, reports ITAR -TASS, includes Caroline Atkinson - Deputy Assistant to the President for National Security of the USA, Daniel Pfeiffer - Assistant to the U.S. President, Benjamin Rhodes - Assistant to the U.S. President.

In addition, the list mentions Senators John McCain, Daniel Coate , Mary Landrieu and Harry Reid - the leader of the majority faction in the upper house of Congress.
