Israeli Foreign Ministry on strike

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has cancelled his visit to Mexico, Panama and Colombia as a result of a strike at his Foreign Ministry.

The strike has been going on at different scale at the Israeli Foreign Ministry. Diplomats demand better work conditions. Strikers took new actions after failure to reach an agreements with the Ministry for Finances in early March.

The Foreign Ministry refuses to serve visits of foreign officials and Israeli leaders abroad. Netanyahu’s meeting with Pope Francis in Vatican is at risk.

The ministry’s staff refuses to prepare documents for Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman and his deputy Ze’ev Elkin.
