Chechnya tidies Orthodox cemeteries before Easter

Joint cleaning works on the eve of Easter are held annually. During this period the republic's Orthodox inhabitants come from different subjects of Russia to visit the graves of their loved ones.
According to Assistant Minister of the Chechen Republic for National Policy, External Relations, Press and Information, Oleg Petukhov, sanitation of cemeteries started on March 4. Work is carried out by joint efforts of municipalities and ministries.
"There are 60 Orthodox cemeteries in the region altogether. Representatives of all regional ministries, jointly with municipal administrations, take part in the work," news agency "Grozny-Inform" quotes Petukhov.
In particular, in the Sunzha district sanitary works are close to completion. Cleaning of the cemeteries in Shelkovskiy District is close to completion.
