A two-day international conference on alternate sources of energy has
started in the Azerbaijani Energy Ministry in Baku. Issues of
alternate and renewable sources of energy will be discussed,
particularly those in Azerbaijan, reports TURAN.

International Renewable Energy Agency Hermann Sheer called on
Azerbaijan to develop alternative energy.

"Azerbaijan is a country with great potential in the sphere of
alternate energy and has plenty of time to develop eco-friendly
technologies," he said.

While an Alternate Energy State Agency was established in Azerbaijan
in June 2009, the former Soviet republic has yet to develop a unified
policy in the field.
