Mikhail Myagkov: "Knowledge of history is the foundation of patriotism"

The head of the Center for the History of Warfare and Geopolitics at the Institute of General History, scholarly director of the Russian Military Historical Society, Professor Mikhail Myagkov, believes that knowledge of one's own history and popularization of the feats of ancestors is the foundation of patriotic education among the youth. The scholar believes that we should pay more attention to the study of the history of the First World War, which is unfairly seen as a fiasco for the Russian army. Mikhail Myagkov believes that falsification of history has led to the recent events in Ukraine.
