Rate of Georgian railway freights exceeds forecasts

'Georgian Railways' transported 13,090,000 tons of cargo in the first
eight months of the year - 1,060,000 tons more (8.85%) then planned,
Business Georgia reports.


According to 'Georgian Railways', this year they transported 2,310,000
tons (21.45%) more cargo this year compared with the same period last
year.


In January-August the company transported 7,600,000 tons of oil and
oil products, which is 7 million tons more (10.22%) than planned and
1,044,000 (23.28%) more compared with the same period last year.


In the first 8 months this year the company transported 5,480,000 tons
of dry cargo, which is 260,000 tons (7.01%) more than planned and
880,000 tons (19%) more compared with the same period last year.
