New head of Ukraine's Naftogaz plans to reach an agreement with Gazprom

The new chief executive of Ukraine's Naftogaz company plans to reach an agreement with Russia's gas-producing monopoly Gazprom, Ukraine'e Minister of Energy Yury  Prodan is quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.

Naftogas' new head is set to meet with Gazprom's CEO Alexey Miller next week, the news agency reports.

The two countries have been having an on-off debate over gas prices since the 2004 Revolution.
