Putin congratulates Erdogan on the election victory

Russian President Vladimir Putin  has congratulated Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his party's victory in the municipal elections by phone, the press service of the Kremlin reports.

"The Russian President has congratulated Erdogan on the landslide victory of his Justice and Development Party at the municipal elections held in Turkey on March 30. Putin and Erdogan emphasized the mindset to strengthen mutually-beneficial bilateral cooperation and agreed to continue contacts," a statement reports, according to RIA Novosti.

As VK previously reported, in Turkey the counting of 100 % of the ballots cast during yesterdays' vote has been completed. According to the CEC, the candidates of the ruling Justice and Development Party received most of the votes - 46.24 %.
