Norwegian Minister for Petroleum and Energy Tord Lien said that Norway could not compensate reduction of European gas imports from Russia, RIA Novosti reports.

He noted that Russia was a reliable gas supplier. The minister believes that the EU will increase fuel purchases in the US and Africa, as long as the prices stay fair. It would still be more costly to transport gas by sea.
