Palestine issues ultimatum against Israel
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaPalestinian lawmaker Mustafa Bagruti has declared Palestine had issued an ultimatum against Israel. The statement was made after the recent meeting of Palestinian authorities in Ramallah in the context of US Secretary of State John Kerry’s visit to the region. Israel was given 24 hours to decide on continuation of peace talks after April 29, when the 9-month terms for talks end, ITAR-TASS reports.
Bagruti noted that Palestine will demand full-fledged membership in the UN, unless Kerry responds to demands for liberation of a quarter of Palestinian lands today. Refusal of Israel to change its attitude would mean termination of negotiations, as the Palestinian legislator said.
Palestine accused Israel of blackmailing. Israel has recently proposed liberation of 420 Palestinians picked by Israel, instead of 26 demanded by Palestinian authorities. Israel has also offered to free Jewish settlement construction, except the ones in East Jerusalem.
Palestine demands Israel to stop construction of settlements on the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
