According to the OSCE report for 2013, the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict remains one of the main conflicts in the region, Trend reports.

The document states that over 20 years have passed since the start of the conflict, yet no sustainable political solution has been made. The OSCE has hailed progress of the OSCE Minsk Group in encouraging dialogue between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Despite the cease-fire agreement achieved in 1994, violations happen almost every day. As a result, 14 soldiers died, 5 civilians and 32 soldiers were wounded in 2013. Special Envoy of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk and his group visited the contact line of forces 16 times and monitored the border 9 times.

Ukraine, as the country chairing the OSCE, focused on settlement of conflicts. The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly sent 7 monitoring missions to different countries. One of them was sent to Azerbaijan.
