Fibre-optic line between Yerevan and Masis completed

GNC-Alfa company has completed the fibre-optic line between Yerevan
and Masis along the railroad. The symbolic joining of the final cables
took place at Ararat, News Armenia reports.


The head of GNC-Alfa, Hayk Faramazyan, said that work had started in
July and the first section of 50.5 km has been launched, providing
Yerevan, Ararat, Masis and Vedi with a fibre-optic connection.


Faramazyan said that the project is worth $2 million and includes the
expansion of the network to Charentsavan, Sevan, Razdan, Dilijan,
Echmiadzin and Armavir. The network may also reach Zod.The company
will allow traffic to reach 10Gbit/s.


Faramazyan said that a network of Yerevan-Egward-Abovyan Charentsavan-Razdan-Sevan-Dilijan is to have been launched by the end of this year, as well as the construction of Masis-Echmiadzin-Armavir section.
