Turkish opposition ready to nominate single presidential candidate in case of second round
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe leader of Turkey's major opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), Kemal Kilicdaroglu, says the country's opposition forces are ready to nominate a single presidential candidate in the case of a second round of voting, ITAR-TASS reports.
The ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) received around 45 percent of the votes in the recent municipal elections and is expected to lose its absolute majority in the parliament at the next parliamentary elections.
Kilicdaroglu believes as well that the AKP candidate will not receive 50 percent of the votes necessary to win the presidential elections in the first round.
