First ladies of Azerbaijan and Russia visit Museum of Modern Art

The first ladies of Azerbaijan and Russia, Mehriban Aliyev and
Svetlana Medvedev, have visited the Museum of Modern Art in Baku,
1news.az reports, citing AzerTag.


Medvedev was informed that the exposition was made from the best
avant-garde paintings and sculptures of the first half of the 20th
century. The museum contains works of up to 1,000 Azerbaijani artists
and sculptors.


The museum has a wide range of international links and will
participate in the modern art museum contest of 2011, among 47 other
countries.


Medvedev expressed interest in the work of Mehriban Aliyeva 'Gyz
galasy', presented at the International Festival of Arts in Baku this
May.
