Russia and Azerbaijan hold an energy summit

The presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan, Dmitry Medvedev and Ilkham Aliyev, have agreed to broaden their countries' partnership in the energy sector. "We have agreed that it is necessary to devote a separate summit to bilateral energy cooperation," President Medvedev stated at a press conference in Baku, ABC.az reports.
According to Medvedev, discussions at the summit will cover all directions of energy cooperation - gas, oil and electric.
President Aliyev stated that he is counting on increasing deliveries of all natural resources from Azerbaijan to Russia. "We see our cooperation with Russia in the energy sector as long-term, strategic and compatible with our mutual  interests," Aliyev said.
