Presidential elections held in Afghanistan

Presidential elections are being held in Afghanistan on Sunday. Polling stations opened at 7am local time, voting will continue until 4pm. Incumbent President Hamid Karzai, who has been in office since 2001, is not allowed to run for president a third time, according to the Constitution.
