Petro Poroshenko tops list of most popular Ukrainian presidential candidates

Ukraine's chocolate tycoon and former cabinet member Petro Poroshenko is the most popular presidential candidate in Ukraine. 21 percent of the Ukrainian people would vote for Poroshenko, according to recent polls.

Around 11 percent are expected to vote for former prime minister and leader of the Fatherland party Yulia Tymoshenko. 10 percent would like to vote for world-famous boxer and leader of the UDAR party Vitaly Klitschko, who has recently quit the race and voiced his support for Poroshenko.

Presidential elections are going to be held in Ukraine on May 25, 2014. Former President Viktor Yanukovych was deposed by the Ukrainian Parliament in late February.
