EU will not stop South Stream construction

Sabine Berger, spokeswoman of the European commissioner for energy, said that the European Commission continued construction of the South Stream together with Russia, RIA Novosti reports.

Media reported that President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso considered freezing construction of the gas pipeline in a conversation with Bulgarian politicians. Berger said that the European Commission welcomed any gas pipeline meeting European standards.
