Yesterday the Russian State University for Humanities (RSUH) marked its 23rd anniversary. It was founded in March 1991 and based on the Moscow State Institute for History and Archives.
The head of the main humanitarian university of the country Yefim Pivovar told Vestni Kavkaza about the university’s plans for the future: “The year is very important for the country’s history, as this year we mark the 100th anniversary of the First World War and the 70th anniversary of the Second World War’s events connected with 1944. We will hold a series of conferences devoted to the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the Second World War and its influence on the fate of our contemporaries. By June 6th we will prepare the Russian-American conference connected with the history of the allied relations between our countries during the First and the Second World Wars. We plan several arrangements devoted to liberation of peoples from fascist occupants in Bulgaria, Romania, Poland, and Hungary.”
According to Pivovar, there are several promising education projects in the university: “We established a vocational school in the RSUH building. Pupils of high school study in our building. This year we extend the project and plan to welcome about 100 people to humanitarian classes and classes of musical, theatre, museum art. We will welcome children with musical education.
We will also implement the program of strategic development of the RSUH, it will be the last year of the program. The Ministry allocated money to us, even though it is a bit less than we have expected, but it is more than last year. It will enable us to improve our scientific programs.
Our university becomes more popular, and more prepared applicants want to study in our university. We are happy with that.”
Today the RSUH prepares professionals in 22 majors and 12 directions. 10 educational scientific institutes and several international educational scientific centers operate within its framework.
