Khloponin to introduce new North Caucasian Federal District development strategy
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe Vice-Premier of the Russian Federation and Plenipotentiary Envoy of the President to the North Caucasian Federal District (NCFD), Alexander Khloponin, will tomorrow present the new strategy of the region’s economic and social development to the governmental commission, headed by Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, RIA Novosti reports.
This project is based on the recommendations made by the PM at the inter-regional ‘United Russia’ conference that took place on the 6th of July in Pyatigorsk.
The new strategy is aiming at accelerating the economic development of the NCFD, as well as helping its residents settle ethnic differences and social problems. These goals are to be obtained by rapid development of the key branches of the region’s economy, such as industry, transport and tourism.
According to the project, the gross domestic product indicator should reach 7.7% per year, while salaries should increase by a factor of 2.5. the strategy also stipulates development of energy supply services and tourist facilities.
