"The People's Republic of Odessa" may turn out to be a provocation

Leaders of the Odessa Anti-Maidan described information concerning the establishment of a People's Republic of Odessa as false.

It should be noted that a report concerning the proclamation of a People's Republic of Odessa was posted both on Odessa’s Anti-Maidan social network page and website today. “From this date, the Odessa Oblast is proclaimed a People's Republic, where power belongs exclusively to the people inhabiting it’s territory," Interfax quotes a statement.

However the statement was refuted shortly after the proclamation was posted. A leader of Anti-Maidan, Artem Davidchenko, brother of arrested Anton Davidchenko, said that it is misinformation or a provocation. He emphasized that the anti-Maidan movement supports the federalization of Ukraine, not separatism.
