Ukraine is ready to jointly operate its gas-distributing system with US and EU, PM says

Ukraine is ready to jointly operate its gas-distributing system with the United States and the European Union, the country's Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk says.

The head of the Ukrainian cabinet said the move will be beneficial for the country since it needs investment in its gas-distributing system and more freedom from Russia.

"We need investment in our energy industry. The possible involvment of the EU and the US in the process will decrease Ukraine's dependence on Russia," Prime Minister Yatsenyuk is quoted as saying after meeting US Vice President Joseph Biden.
