The body of Vladimir Rybak, a member of the Gorlovka City Council, kidnapped on April 17, was found in a river in Sloviansk (Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine). An unidentified body was found nearby. The bodies were found by the local resistance on April 20, RIA Novosti reports.

The police say that both were tortured and drowned while being unconscious. Rybak was kidnapped in Gorlovka by people in camouflaged uniforms and taken away. A video of the kidnapping was taken.

Vyacheslav Ponomarev, a self-proclaimed mayor of Sloviansk and head of the local resistance, confirmed signs of tortures on the bodies.

Rybak was a member of the Fatherland Party and an activist of the Euromaidan protests. He was skeptical about the self-proclaimed Donetsk Republic. The politician was an active attendee of protests for integral Ukraine.
