Japan passes additional sanctions against Russia

Japan has stopped issuing visas for 23 Russian officials and other individuals. Their list will be published later. The sanctions were imposed within the framework of collective decisions made by G7 leaders, ITAR-TASS reports.

Japan passed the first anti-Russian sanctions on March 18 over the situation in Crimea. According to the sanctions, consultations on simplification of the visa regime were stopped and negotiation to sign the agreement on investment cooperation, cooperation in space research and on prevention of dangerous military activities were stopped.
