Israel and Turkey approaching agreement
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaIsraeli media are discussing the results of Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman's recent visit to Baku. Many experts are focusing on the Israeli minister's statement in which he noted that Israeli-Turkish relations were going to change for the better soon.
This means that the Israeli minister confirmed the statement made by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan several days ago.
A bilateral agreement was expected to be signed on May 30, but Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Natanyahu decided to postpone it due to the two countries' different positions on the Gaza Strip blockade. The issue became even more acute on April 23 when the leader of the Palestine Autonomy, Mahmoud Abbas, signed an agreement with HAMAS in order to establish a government of national unity.
Well-informed sources say Turkey and Israel are now approaching an agreement. According to them, Turkey is going to drop its demand for Israel to stop the Gaza blockade, but receive the right to deliver humanitarian aid to the region.
