Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law granting refugees in Russia the possibility of working in the country without special permission.

The law exempts foreigners recognized as refugees or those granted temporary asylum from the need to obtain a work permit in order to work in Russia. The Federation Council approved the bill in late April, RIA Novosti reports.

These amendments are aimed at eliminating the contradictions between the law on the legal status of foreign citizens and refugees.
