Russia demands that Ukraine pay for gas

Ukraine needs to pay for Russian gas today. Russian Minister for Energy Alexander Novak said that Gazprom will give the preliminary bill for gas supplies for June on May 16, forcing Kiev to may pre-payments unless the debt gets covered today, Segodnya.ua reports.

Novak noted that Ukraine may have to pre-pay for gas by May 31 in order to get supplies throughout June.
