Obama extends anti-Syrian sanctions for a year

U.S. President Barack Obama has extended the ban on exporting and re-exporting some Syrian products and freezing of accounts of certain Syrian functionaries for a year, RIA Novosti reports.

In his letter to the US Congress, Obama accused Damascus of using chemical weapons, supporting terrorist organizations and interfering in the home affairs of Lebanon.
