Tender for construction of TAP ground section announced

The consortium developing the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) has announced a tender for construction of the 760-km ground section of the pipeline with a diameter of 1.2 meters running through Greece and Albania, Trend reports.

The TAP project will deliver gas from Shah Deniz (Azerbaijan) to European markets. It will transport gas from the Caspian Region through Greece, Albania, Adriatic Sea to the southern part of Italy and then to Western Europe. The pipeline will be about 870km long. Its construction is planned to start in 2016.
