Makhachkala ex-mayor remanded again

Makhachkala ex-Mayor Sayid Amirov’s lawyer requested the North Caucasus District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don to reconsider the detention of the suspect due to his health conditions, Interfax reports.Sayid Amirov’s wife Sultanat said that her husband's health had taken a turn for the worse.Amirov’s case was initiated on May 31, 2013. He is suspected of organizing the murder of Arsen Gajibekov, acting head of the investigative office in the Sovetsky District of Makhachkala, in December 2011. He was detained in Makhachkala and moved to Moscow.Initiation of a criminal case of terrorism was initiated against the ex-mayor in September 2013.
