Turkish opposition slams ruling party for Soma mine tragedy

The tragedy in Soma, where 201 miners died in a mine explosion yesterday, could have been prevented if the ruling Justice and Development Party took measures, Interfax cites Hurriyet Daily News.

The Republican People’s Party of Turkey requested the parliament to inspect other mines in the area in 2013. The ruling party rejected the idea.
