South Ossetia marks Day of Ossetian Language and Literature

South Ossetia is marking the Day of Ossetian Language and Literature. The day was set to coincide with the date of the publication of Kosta Khetagurov’s “The Ossetian Lyre” in 1899. The book includes the first children’s verses published in the Ossetian language, Res reports.Both North and South Ossetia have been marking the day for over a decade. Celebrations and round-table conferences are organized all over the republics. People lay flowers at the Kosta Khetagurov monument in the center of Tskhinvali.
