250 people died in Ukraine crisis

UN Assistant Secretary-General for Human Rights Ivan Shimonovich said that 127 people had died in the counter-terrorism operation in Ukraine and a total of 250 people had died since the start of the protest movement in late November 2013, RIA Novosti reports.

Shimonovich added that the UN had registered 112 cases of illegal detention of people in the east of the country. The fate of 49 of them remains a mystery.
